Meet With Our Doctor

Dr. Alecia Barnes was born and raised in Lumberton, North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in 1992 and attended optometry school at Southern College of Optometry. She has lived and practiced in Raleigh since receiving her Doctorate of Optometry in 1996. Dr. Barnes’ specialties include Vision Therapy and Orthokeratology. She has been in practice for 20 years and is a member of the AOA, NCSOS, COVD, NORA and OEP.

Dr. Barnes and her husband, Juan, live in the Brier Creek area and are actively involved in the community. When not spending weekends at Wolfpack sporting events, they are watching their boys, Connor and Justin, play baseball with North Wake Baseball or basketball with NCWBA. Dr. Barnes is also an avid runner and enjoys playing tennis.

Dr. Barnes specializes in scleral contact lenses, orthokeratology (Ortho-K), binocular vision disorders and vision therapy. Dr. Barnes looks forward to seeing you soon at TrueVision Eye Care!

Dr. Alecia Barnes​

Dr. Jennifer Lyerly is an optometrist practicing comprehensive ocular healthcare with a focus on custom and specialty contact lenses. She is a recognized leader in eyecare with a passion for building relationships with her patients and the wider Triangle community.

A native of Clemmons, North Carolina, she graduated as valedictorian at North Carolina State University before earning her optometric doctorate. In 2017 she was recognized as the Southern College of Optometry’s Young Alumni of the Year for her outreach in the profession, and she currently serves as a Board of Trustees member at the Southern College of Optometry. She lives in Cary with her husband and young daughter.

Dr. Lyerly specializes in scleral contact lenses and myopia control.

Dr. Jennifer Lyerly

Dr. Brandon Weyand grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania and moved to North Carolina when he attended Campbell University. After completing his undergraduate degree in 2003, he attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he graduated as valedictorian in 2010. He has been practicing in the Triangle area for the past ten years. Dr. Weyand enjoys practicing comprehensive ocular care and contact lens fitting.

Dr. Weyand and his wife, Kelli have lived in Cary for the past seven years. When he is not working, Dr. Weyand is usually spending time with his wife and their four daughters, Madison, Camryn, Emily and Olivia. Dr. Weyand enjoys playing golf and running in his free time. He is also an avid sports fan and continues to support all of the Pittsburgh teams, especially the Steelers.

Dy. Weyand specializes in primary eye care for all ages.
