Contact Lens Exam, Morrisville & Raleigh, NC

Contact lens evaluations are an additional service that can be added to your comprehensive eye exam. A contact lens evaluation requires additional measurements and an in-office evaluation to ensure that your contact lenses fit appropriately and provide optimum vision and that your eyes will remain as healthy as possible while wearing the contact lenses.

This testing involves procedures not required for patients who only wear eyeglasses. The contact lens professional fees are for the extra clinical measurements and expertise provided by the doctor to make sure you have the best possible contact lens prescription. Please ask us about the contact lens evaluation fees for your particular prescription.

Specialty contact lens care in Morrisville and Raleigh

While you may like the idea of wearing contact lenses to improve your vision, your eyes and vision may have special needs, which require equally special contact lenses. TrueVision Eye Care offers specialty contact lenses in Morrisville and Raleigh for those who need custom contact lenses due to high prescriptions or underlying corneal conditions.

Drs. Alecia Barnes and Jennifer Lyerly are the trusted contact lens specialists in the Triangle area, earning their reputation as the go-to providers for scleral contact lenses for patients with dry eye or keratoconus and myopia management contact lenses like orthokeratology. Dr. Brandon Weyand is a certified orthokeratology and MiSight® contact lens specialist for myopia management at our Morrisville location. They embrace state-of-the-art contact lens technology to design lenses that optimize both clarity and comfort.

Our contact lens specialists can also help patients overcome common contact lens problems like fluctuating vision and discomfort. If you’re in this category, you could be a good candidate for custom contact lenses. Your options for custom contact lenses include:

  • Rigid gas permeable lenses are known for providing better vision than soft contacts and are great alternatives for individuals with high prescriptions and irregular corneal shapes like with keratoconus.
  • Soft custom lenses are one go-to choice for those with hard-to-fit eyes and can be designed to allow for the eye to receive more oxygen. Soft custom lenses are also used for kids eight and older who are experiencing progressive nearsightedness.

We’ll help you succeed with contact lens wear

If you’ve never worn contacts before, it can be a bit of a learning curve as you get used to putting them in, taking them out, and caring for them. Not to worry; we’ll be sure to educate and demonstrate while you’re in our office until you feel comfortable. Once you’re home, you’re welcome to call us if you have any additional questions or concerns. Check out this great video where Dr. Lyerly explains inserting, removing, and caring for your soft contact lenses.

We look forward to customizing your vision
